PRESENTATION COMPETITION FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the University of Szeged, the SZTE Junior Academy and the Ezabeszéd Toastmasters Rhetoric Club of Szeged are organizing the PREZILIMPIA JUNIOR competition for the third time this year.
As part of the tradition, the founders set out to continue a series of competitions where participants can prepare for a presentation with the help of competent mentors. Following the model of ‘Prezilimpia’, a competition for university students, ‘Prezilimpia Junior’ is now open for high school students.
For the first time in 2023, the competition will be non-invitational, meaning that students of all Hungarian-language secondary schools in Hungary and abroad can apply.
The competition is open to all secondary school students from grades 9 to 12. The jury evaluates the presentations of students in two age groups (grades 9-10 and 11-12) separately.
You can apply for the competition in your own school. The application method is determined by each institution. Look out for posters in your school regarding the application process or apply with your school’s name at prezilimpia@eco.u-szeged.hu.
In the local school rounds, you can qualify to compete in the Prezilimpia Junior final in Szeged. The finalists will receive institutional admission points as stated in the admission information.
The final in Szeged will take place 6 December 2023. We welcome all secondary school finalists and their accompanying teachers to this event.
Presentations can be held under the following conditions:
Topic: ‘The university I would like to go to …’
Specific content: individually chosen
Language: Hungarian or English
Slide show: MS Power Point, Prezi software, or without a slide show
Duration: minimum 6, maximum 8 minutes
If you have concerns about the topic, read brief food for thought here.
You can read the Contest Rules, containing detailed competition terms and conditions, here.
Why is it worth for you to apply?
Because this is a very good opportunity to develop your presentation skills, which you will need in almost all areas of life. If you make it to the finals, you can try yourself live. Besides your own teachers, you will also receive preparation tips and advice from experienced presenters. Moreover, the participants of the final, those applying to the Faculty of Economics of the University of Szeged, will be rewarded with 15 institutional points.
The competition project’s partner includes the Szeged club of the world’s largest professional public speaking and leadership development organization, Toastmasters International.
